Summary
Arclune is an offline-first iOS app for airport distance information, route visualization, local route storage, and informational time estimates. The current MVP works without an Arclune account, advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, tracking SDKs, or an Arclune backend for airport search, distance calculation, stored routes, preferences, or typical seasonal wind context.
Arclune does not collect personal data from the app for developer-controlled analytics, advertising, tracking, profiling, or resale.
On-Device Processing
Arclune processes airport searches, selected airports, routes, stops, route-shape points, distance units, map preferences, aircraft/time-estimate assumptions, wind-assumption settings, recents, favorites, and app preferences locally on your device.
Arclune does not upload your airport searches, routes, favorites, selected aircraft assumptions, manual wind assumptions, or app preferences to an Arclune server.
Optional Location
Location access is optional. Arclune requests When-In-Use location permission only when you use nearby-airport search. If allowed, your location is used on the device to sort nearby airports by distance.
Arclune does not store, upload, sell, share, or track your precise location. The app remains usable without location access; only nearby-airport suggestions from current location require permission. You can withdraw location permission in iOS Settings.
Apple Maps And Apple Services
Arclune uses Apple Maps / MapKit to display maps, route lines, map imagery, and map snapshots. Apple Maps and related Apple system services may communicate with Apple to provide map tiles, map imagery, location-related system services, crash diagnostics, App Store distribution, and other platform functions.
Arclune does not control Apple's independent processing. Apple's handling of Apple Maps, Location Services, App Store, iCloud, device backups, and system diagnostics is governed by Apple's own privacy terms and settings.
No Tracking, Accounts, Ads, Or Third-Party Analytics
Arclune does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies. The current MVP does not require an account and does not include advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, tracking SDKs, marketing push notifications, or developer-controlled behavioral profiling.
Support Communications
If you contact support, you may choose to provide your email address, name, device/app details, screenshots, route examples, or other information needed to answer the request. Support communications are used to respond, diagnose issues, maintain security, document compliance, and protect legal rights.
Production provider/processors: Apple iCloud Mail for support email, Apple platform services for App Store distribution and maps, and the production website host for arclune.app. The current MVP uses no Arclune analytics, advertising, tracking, or backend provider for app usage data
Legal Bases Where EU/UK Law Applies
- performance of a requested service or pre-contractual steps for app functions and support requests;
- consent for optional location permission and optional data you send in support requests;
- legitimate interests in operating, securing, supporting, improving, and documenting the app, where not overridden by your rights;
- legal obligations where retention or disclosure is required by law.
Retention
Local route data, favorites, recents, and preferences remain on your device until you delete them in the app, uninstall the app, erase the device, or use Apple system controls that affect app data.
Location used for nearby-airport search is processed transiently for the current request and is not retained by Arclune.
Support communications retention: Support communications are kept only as long as needed to answer the request, document compliance, protect legal rights, or meet legal obligations, normally up to 24 months unless a longer period is required
Recipients And International Transfers
The current app does not transmit app usage data, route data, airport searches, or location data to a developer-controlled backend. Recipient categories may include Apple for Apple-controlled platform services and the email/hosting/support providers used when you contact support or visit hosted legal pages.
International transfer summary: Support email, website hosting, Apple platform services, and app distribution may involve processing in countries outside your country under the relevant provider terms and safeguards. The app itself does not upload route, airport search, location, favorites, or usage data to an Arclune backend
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, rectification, deletion, restriction, portability, objection, withdrawal of consent, and information about processing. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
Because the current MVP has no Arclune account and no developer-side collection of app usage data, the provider may not be able to identify local app data stored only on your device. To exercise privacy rights for support communications or other data you provided directly, contact arclune@icloud.com.
Children
Arclune is not directed to children for behavioral advertising, profiling, or tracking. The current MVP does not knowingly collect children's personal data through developer-controlled systems.
Information-Only Product Boundary
Airport, aircraft, map, and wind-context data may be incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated. Arclune is an information and visualization app only. It is not for navigation, operational flight planning, dispatch, fuel planning, weather or NOTAM decisions, airport suitability, alternate planning, regulatory decisions, safety-critical decisions, or legal advice.
Changes
This policy may be updated when Arclune's features, providers, legal requirements, or App Store disclosures change. The hosted version should show the latest effective date.
